The Lovcen mountain range stretches along the back of the Budva Riviera protecting it from cold north winds and ensuring a mild Mediterranean climate. It impresses everyone who comes here to enjoy the beauty of this region.
The centre of the Budva Riviera is Budva town, one of the oldest settlements along the Adriatic coast. The Old Town of Budva is mentioned in manuscripts dating back to the 5th century BC.
There are some 40 settlements and villages which have a special charm, Becici, for example, boasts a beautiful beach which in Paris was recognised as the most beautiful beach in Europe in 1935. There is also Milocer – it used to be the King’s residence. Sveti Stefan, a unique town-hotel, Petrovac–Lastva, first mentioned in ‘the Chronicle of the Priest of Doclea’ in the 12th century.
