The monastery consists of the St. Luke's Church and a konak (administrative building).
The church is dedicated to the Apostle Luke. According to traditional, the monastery was founded by the granddaughter of Vukan Nemanjić in the 18th century. The majority of the data on the monastery life originates from the 17th and 18th centuries. It was destroyed by the Turks in 1853. It was reconstructed in 1881, courtesy of Prince Nikola (who reconstructed the monastery in honour of his uncle Prince Danilo).
The church is a single-nave building with a transept that forms two lateral choir stalls with a dome. The altar area is separated from the naos, which has a pronounced arch. The dome leans on the spheric triangles and on the lateral side there are three low arcade arches. The church is made of quarried blocks. The portal is arched and defined. Above the entrance there is a wooden balladur. Church is surrounded by a concrete pavement with a semicircular staircase next to the entrance.
In Župa Onogošt once stood Vukčić's town of Susjed, today known as Jerina’s Town.
