In the relatively small area (around 1 ha) there is an unusual botanical collection, with around 127 species of trees, bushes and shrubs, including also subspecies. This includes 62 species of non-deciduous trees, and 65 species of deciduous trees. Of the total number of species, around 33 are domestic and 94 are foreign, which is one of the particular values of the Arboretum, as is the fact that it includes particular exotic tree species, either non-existent in Montenegro or represented in very small numbers.
The Arboretum was placed under protection by the Decision of the Republic Bureau for the Protection of Nature on 22nd May 2000 as a protected natural monument of interest to the Republic.
