This spring becomes a sinking river only during the summer months. Intermittent sources or sinking rivers are sources in which the water erupts in the intervals. Water is flowing from openings for a certain period and then it dries up and starts running again after a while.
During the period of minimum rainfall, at the end of August and beginning of September, periods of flow revolve, lasting from 15 to 20 minutes, with flow interruptions lasting on average 35 to 45 minutes.
There are two reservoirs in the subsoil that are unevenly filled, and the water flows out through the inlet narrow siphon. Once the reservoirs are filled, water compresses the air from the siphon, which forces the water to flow faster from the reservoir than into the reservoir and after a while the flow is interrupted.
