Upper Brceli Monastery
The monastery has the same name as the village it is located in - Brceli.
skipMonastery facilities and the church are surrounded by high stone walls. The monastery has a gate as well as a very luxurious belfry. The building where the sleeping quarters are located is built in such way that it is reminscent of a typical house from Crmnica, with characteristic architectural features like vaults and terraces. In the Upper Brceli Monastery in Crmnica, back in 1863 a school was founded, which was later moved to the nearby Lower Brceli Monastery
It was founded by Bishop Danilo at the beginning of the 18th century and it was his winter residence. As the part of the monastery there is a church dedicated to the Shroud of the Holy Mother of God as well as an iconostasis dating from 1928 - the work of the artist Petar Čolanovic.
