The Zaboj Lake, surrounded with the dense pine and beech forests, is situated in the North-Eastern part of the Mountain Sinjajevina with the 1.477m altitude. Due to its extraordinary natural values it is protected within the scope of the Natural Park Durmitor. The size of the lake is 27.600 square metres and because of its deepness its volume is around 170.000 cubic metres. With the depth of around 19 metres it is the one among the deepest lakes in Montenegro. Actually, as for the deepness, it is on the third place behind the Black Lake (49.1m) on the Durmitor Mountain and the Captain`s Lake (37) on the Lukavica. There are trout in the lake as well as the Californian trout. The permanent resident of the lake is a small fish which the residents call brkac
